Berlin, 16. bis 24. Mai 2016

Jede Gesellschaft folgt einer logischen Struktur, die festzulegen scheint, wie wir sind, was wir tun und worüber wir sprechen. Der Performance-Workshop Körper // Sprache // Archiv, der vom 16. bis 24. Mai 2016 in Berlin stattfindet, zielt darauf, mit performativen Mitteln in diese Struktur einzugreifen bzw. die Möglichkeiten dieses Eingreifens auszuloten.

Wir knüpfen dabei an einen ersten Workshop an, der vom 15. bis 22. August 2015 in Lika, Kroatien stattfand. Das Themen-Spektrum lag hier buchstäblich und metaphorisch verschüttet: die Minenfelder, die Erfahrungen der Gewalt, die Sprache des Hasses. Der Workshop setzte sich kritisch mit der Geschichte der Balkankriege der 1990er Jahre auseinander sowie der Ethnisierung politischer Konflikte und der vorherrschenden Geschichtspolitik der Gegenwart.

Auch in Berlin widmet sich der Workshop den Fragenkomplexen von Diskriminierung und eliminatorischer Gewalt in Vergangenheit und Gegenwart. Im Zentrum steht dabei der Stadtbezirk Weißensee, wo der Workshop durchgeführt wird. Weißensee bildet musterhaft Strukturen der Ausgrenzung und Diskriminierung der letzten 90 Jahre in Deutschland ab. Nicht nur liegt hier der größte jüdische Friedhof Europas, der ein eindrucksvolles Bild vom jüdischen Leben in Berlin vor der Nazizeit gibt und damit die Folgen der Shoah vor Augen führt. Auch die DDR-Vergangenheit und die Verwerfungen der Transformation in den 1990er Jahren haben deutliche Spuren hinterlassen. So bleibt der Bezirk – 15 Minuten mit der Tram vom Alexanderplatz entfernt – seltsam peripher und losgelöst vom „neuen Berlin“. Vor diesem Hintergrund beschäftigen wir uns mit heutigen Erscheinungsformen von Rassismus, Xenophobie und Rechtsradikalismus in Deutschland.

Im Mai 2016 laden wir zwanzig Teilnehmer_innen aus Deutschland und Kroatien zu einem 8-tägigen Performance-Workshop ein. Der Workshop gliedert sich in drei Phasen. Zunächst werden theatrale und performative Mittel erprobt und weiterentwickelt, um die oben genannten Themenkomplexe zu bearbeiten. Anschließend geht es darum, Stoff und Material zu finden und künstlerische Teams zu bilden, die jeweils gemeinsam kleine Projekte entwerfen und umsetzten. Am Ende präsentieren die Teams ihre vorläufigen Ergebnisse, die dabei von Performances zu bespielten Environments bis Videoart reichen können und sowohl abgeschlossene als auch offene Projekte umfassen. Der Workshop dient insofern als Plattform, künstlerische Vorhaben anzustoßen, zu entwickeln und zu erproben, die über die Dauer des Workshops hinaus führen.

Das Projekt Körper // Sprache // Archiv richtet sich an junge Erwachsene, die an künstlerischem Arbeiten interessiert sind, und zielt neben der Themenstellung auf die Erweiterung der ästhetischen Erfahrung. Die Teilnehmer_innen werden dabei von fünf erfahrenen Theaterpädagog_innen, Regisseur_innen und Dramaturg_innen begleitet. Die Workshop-Sprache ist – neben kroatisch und deutsch – vor allem englisch. Die Teilnahme am vorherigen Workshop in Kroatien ist nicht Voraussetzung der Anmeldung.  performance workshop body // language // archive

Berlin, 16th to 24th May 2016

Every society follows a logical structure that seems to determine the way we are, act and even talk. The performance workshop body // language // archive will take place from 16th to 24th May 2016 in Berlin, and aims at a critical questioning of this partition through performative interventions.

This will be a follow-up of the previous workshop which took place in Lika, Croatia from 15th to 22nd August 2015. The range of topics were posited under the surface: the mine fields, the experience of violence and languages of hatred. The workshop dealt in a critical way with the history of Balkan wars in 1990s, the ethicizing of political conflicts and the current hegemonic politics of history nowadays.

In Berlin, the workshop also works on a set of related questions concerning discrimination and eliminatory violence in the present and the past. On this occasion we will focus our attention on the city district of Weißensee, where the workshop is taking place – significantly symptomatic of structures of social exclusion and discrimination acts in Germany, over the last 90 years. Not just Europe’s biggest jewish cemetery is situated here, impressively showing Jewish culture in Berlin before Nazi time, contributing towards an awareness of the impact of the Shoah; but also GDR past, plus the frictions of transformation in the early nineties – have all clearly left its marks.

The neighbourhood, just 15 minutes away from Alexanderplatz by tram, lays strangely peripheral situated and dettached from „New Berlin“. We will critically explore issues such as the ones of present day manifestations of racism, xenophobia and right-wing radicalism in Germany.

In this light, we are inviting 20 participants from Croatia and Germany to a 8-day performance workshop in Berlin in May 2016. The workshop is structured in three phases: at first the participants will try out and develop theatrical and performative techniques to deal with the above mentioned set of questions – particularly in a documentary theatrical way. The following phase is aimed at finding subjects and materials by building small teams who will draft and execute different projects together. In the end, the teams will present their preliminary results consisting in performative actions, environments or even video-art formats, which may include finished or work-in-progress pieces. In this way body // language // archive will work as platform to initiate, develop and to try out concrete artistic goals that will surely persist beyond the durance of the workshop.

The workshop is dedicated to young adults who are interested in artistic work and aims beyond the topic to extend the artistic skills and aesthetic experience. All participants will be actively coached by expert drama tutors, directors and dramatic advisors. Apart from Croatian and German, the general workshop language is English. A partcipation at the previous workshop in Croatia is not a condition for enrollment. Izvedbena radionica Tijelo // Govor // Arhiv

Berlin, 16.-24. svibnja 2016.

Svako društvo slijedi određenu logičnu strukturu, strukturu koja određuje tko smo, način na koji djelujemo i govorimo. Izvedbena radionica Tijelo // Govor // Arhiv će se održati od 16. do 24. svibnja 2016. u Berlinu s ciljem kritičkog preispitivanja uz pomoć performativnih intervencija.

Ova izvedbena radionica se nadovezuje na prethodnu radionicu održanu u Hrvatska od 15. do 22. kolovoza 2015. godine. Spektar tema doslovno i metaforički istražuje problematiku koja se nalazi ispod površine: minska polja, iskustvo nasilja, govor mržnje. Radionica se kritičkih osvrnula na teme povijesti ratova na području bivše Jugoslavije devedesetih, etnički nacionalizam političkih sukoba te aktualna politika povijesti.

U Berlinu, radionica će istraživati pitanja vezana uz diskriminaciju, isključivost i nasilje u prošlosti i sadašnjosti. Ovom prilikom će fokus biti stavljen na gradski okrug Weißensee, mjesto održavanja radionice, simptomatično po strukturama društvene isključivosti i diskriminacijskim zakonima Njemačke u proteklih devedeset godina. Weißensee je mjesto gdje se nalazi najveće židovsko groblje u Europi i gdje je jasno vidljiva židovska kultura Berlina prije nacističkog razdoblja. Ono danas predstavlja značajno mjesto u spomen na posljedice sustavnog istrebljenja Židova tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata. Također, na samo mjesto su ostavili trag i prošlost Njemačke Demokratske Republike, te napetosti u transformaciji početkom devedesetih.

Ovaj okrug, udaljen svega 15 minuta tramvajem od Alexanderplatza, i dalje ostaje na periferiji i odvojen od „novog Berlina“. Kritički ćemo se baviti problematikom aktualne manifestacije rasizma, ksenofobije i desnog radikalizma prisutnog u Njemačkoj.

U ovoj prilici, pozivamo 20 sudionika/sudionica iz Hrvatske i Njemačke na osmodnevnu izvedbenu radionicu u Berlinu koja će se održati u svibnju 2016. Radionica je strukturirana u tri faze. U prvoj fazi će sudionici isprobati i pokušati razviti kazališne i izvedbene tehnike namijenjene obradi prethodno spomenutih pitanja sa specifičnim naglaskom na dokumentarno kazalište. Druga faza je usmjerena na pronalazak tema i materijala u okviru malih timova koji će zajedno koncipirati i izvesti različite projekte. Na kraju, timovi će predstaviti svoje privremene rezultate dostupne u različitim oblicima – od tjelesnog/ jezičnog/ glazbeno-akustičnog performansa do videoarta, koji mogu sadržavati već dovršene ili radne cjeline. Radionica u tom smislu služi kao platforma za razvoj, istraživanje i poticanje umjetničkih ciljeva koji prelaze preko granica same radionice.

Radionica je namijenjenima mladima zainteresiranim za umjetnički rad i ciljeve koji nadmašuju same umjetničke vještine i estetsko iskustvo. Sudionici će biti aktivno usmjeravani stručnim vodstvom dramskih pedagoga, redatelja i dramaturga. Osim hrvatskog i njemačkog, radni jezik radionice je engleski. Sudjelovanje u prethodnoj radionici u Hrvatskoj nije uvjet za prisustvovanje u ovoj. Imajte na umu da nam pošaljete registracijsku prijavnicu najkasnije do 15. travnja 2016.
